Eva Skrande is the author of My Mother’s Cuba (River City Poetry Series) and a chapbook, The Gates of the Somnambulist (Jeanne Duval Editions). Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in American Poetry Review, The Iowa Review, Agni, Alaska Quarterly, Ploughshares, among others. A graduate of The Iowa Writers Workshop and the Creative Writing Program at The University of Houston, Skrande has been awarded a City of Houston Individual Artist Grant. She has also been a Pushcart nominee and a finalist in many book-length poetry competitions, including being a finalist twice in the National Poetry Series. Skrande teaches English and Creative Writing at Furr High School.
