Award-winning poet, Betty Ann Whitney is an essayist, short story writer and visual artist. She was Sol Magazine’s 1998 Poet Laureate, and subsequently their Poetry Editor for six years. Her work appears regularly in journals, and in anthologies such as the 2004 Houston Poetry Fest Anthology. She is the President of New River Poets, and a member of the National Federation of State Poets, Florida State Poets Association, and the Houston Chapter of the Poetry Society of Texas. Before moving to Florida, Betty Ann was a painting instructor; although she devotes much of her life to writing, she reserves a day of painting each week with the Masters of Fine Art of Tampa Bay.
Carolyn Adams' art and poetry have appeared in numerous journals including TimeSlice: Houston Poetry 2005, Aesthetica, Avatar, Common Ground Review, Tar Wolf Review, Thrift Poetic Arts Journal, all things girl, among others. Her art is featured in the galleries of Alsop Review, Tryst, Right Hand Pointing, and Pierian Springs, as well as exhibited in her native home, Houston, Texas.
